For sure, there really isn’t another iPhone pop culture phenomenon that can rival Angry Birds, the famous Birds apps. The free-to-play mobile game Temple Run is nevertheless a great success, and it has reach another huge milestone since it arrived in Apple’s App Store a year ago.
Imangi Studios has just announced that it has been downloaded more than 100 million times. That’s a big number! And with over 100 million downloads this is certainly also a success story! The company listed iOS at 68 million downloads with Android coming in with over 32 million. The studio also revealed that more than 10 billion sessions of the game have been played in the last year.
“We never imagined that the game we were making and loved would be so well received around the world, said Keith Shepherd, co-founder of Imangi Studios, in a statement. The last year has been incredible for us, and we are grateful to fans of the game. We hope to be able to provide them with more entertainment from the brand for years to come.”
They are probably in the good way with the new partnership Disney / Imangi to launch a Disney-themed version of the game called Temple Run: Brave, linked to the Disney Pixar film.
