Expecting a baby? Now you can make it official on Facebook. Facebook has just added a new “life event” to its list of things you can add to Family & Relationships in your timeline.
The new feature, which is available to all users who have switched to Facebook’s ‘Timeline’ profile, lets users share their unborn child’s name, expected birth date and gender. Users can also choose who they want to share the information with, rather than telling all their friends.
“Life Events are easy and expressive ways to mark significant moments in your life such as getting married, buying a house or traveling to new places,” according to a Facebook blog post. “If you choose to, you can now share that you are expecting a baby with your friends on Facebook.”
The happy baby announcements will appear in the Celebrations section of your homepage, located in the upper-right corner where where you see users’ birthdays and events .
To access the new option, go to your Timeline and click on Life Event. From there choose Family & Relationships and a list of selections containing Expecting a Baby will come up. Then add any details you want to share before clicking Save.
Once the bundle of joy has arrived, you can share that you had a baby from the same sharing tool.http://www.gizbot.com/files/2012/08/facebook-expecting-a-baby.jpg http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2012/08/16/article-0-14929E95000005DC-80_634x466.jpg http://wfsb.images.worldnow.com/images/19285964_BG1.jpg
