Since it was launched in 2011, the popular eSports and video game broadcasting site Twitch.tv has been free to view. And as other streaming video sites, Twitch has relied on ads as a source of monetization.
Yesterday, Twitch officially announced the launch of a new subscription service for viewing streaming videos called Twitch Turbo: “Today we’re excited to announce an all-new way to experience the Twitch content you love, seamlessly and without ads, all while still supporting your favorite broadcasters. It’s called Twitch Turbo.”
Twitch CEO Emmett Shear said: “We wanted to find a way to provide the ultimate Twitch experience. We’re very excited to launch it, and we’ll be looking to the community to help us make Twitch Turbo even… ultimatier.” Twitch is one of the most prominent game streaming sites on the web, letting users broadcast their live gameplay videos.
The new service removes all ads from video streams, as well as offering expanded emoticon and chat colour options to users. It also brings priority customer support, letting subscription users receive prompter responses to any technical difficulties.
Twitch Turbo monthly subscription fee will be $8.99 per month. More informations by visiting http://www.twitch.tv/products/turbo
