Najmtek is a technology start-up, created in 2014, client company of the Houston Technology Center. As part of the worldwide ICT community, the aim of ICT Spring Europe is to encourage emulation and networking between CIOs, innovation managers, startups, researchers and venture capitalists on a European scale.

European ICT Awards Dinner, the award ceremony of the events, was opened at 8PM on June 19th by Xavier Bettel, Mayor of Luxembourg City. He announced “the creation of a huge european ICT port in Luxembourg”

During this dinner, 3 EUROPEAN ICT AWARDS was given at 11 PM, after the main dish and before the desert:

  • European CIO of the year  – awarded to Europe’s best CIO for their global strategies and implemented projects, their technical choices and management skills.
  • European ICT Innovation of the year  – awarded to a European company for its innovation culture, innovative products or services and outstanding contribution to its market’s technology leadership.
  • European Start-up of the year  – awarded to a less than 5-year old company for its innovation, dynamism, influence and growth potential in the near future

The jury members, who had the responsibility of the nominee’s selection in each category, were selected by ICT Spring 2012 Advisory Board amongst the european CIOs, ICT media & bloggers, marketing managers from the european ICT sector and universities.

The voting process has been taking place electronically with secure links and independent supervision, and 3 nominees were determined in each category.They were presented during the Dinner, just a few minutes before the final result!

And we are proud te announced that

UBOOK (the Universal Notebook) was awarded :


The award was given by Gilles SCHLESSER, Managing Director of Luxinnovation, National Agency to Promote innovation and research in Luxembourg.
