Xiaomi Mi-Two, the world’s fastest android 4.1 phone

China is the world’s biggest mobile phone market, with a billion users, and with 35% of Chinese accessing the Internet exclusively through mobile devices. There are not only consumer of such devices, but also strong manufacturer. While Apple is making inroads into the chinese market with their latest iPhone and iPad, the Chinese phone manufacturer Xiaomi has unveiled the Mi-Two smartphone.

The Xiaomi Mi2 (say “me too“) will be slightly smaller, sleeker, and thinner than before. Lei Jun, Xiaomi CEO, says that the phone is designed for Asian hands to hold it in comfort”. It’s not as wide as the Samsung Galaxy SIII. The rear camera has also been upgraded to an f2.0 27mm lens.

The Xiaomi Mi2 will comes with the following specifications:

  • 1.7 GHz Snapdragon APQ8064 S Pro chipset (quad-core Krait CPU + Adreno 320 GPU)
  • 2GB of RAM
  • 16GB internal storage, microSD card slot
  • Android 4.1 Jelly Bean customized, and called MIUI
  • 4.3-inch capacitive touchscreen at 1280×720 pixel resolution
  • 8 megapixel rear camera with 1080p video recording
  • 2 megapixel front camera for video calling
  • HDMI-compatible USB port, that will let users connect the phone to a compatible television set, for an improved multimedia experience,
  • HSPA+ connectivity up to 42 Mbps
  • 2,000 mAh battery that can be upgraded to a 3,000 mAh one
  • 5″ (l) x 2.4″ (w) x 0.4″ (10 mm) (d)

But the best thing about XIAOMI Mi2 is its price: the company will sell the phone for only 1,999 RMB, which is about $314. But… it will only become available this October only on Chinese carriers !
