Sony PRS-T2 e-reader is finally official!

Sony has just revealed a new touchscreen e-reader by the name of PRS-T2, that is a follow-up to 2011’s PRS-T1. It will come with a couple of important adjustments, bringing an improved finish and smoother operation.

Another new feature in this e-reader is the social network integration, offering direct access to your Twitter and Facebook accounts. Evernote, the cloud-based aggregation service, has also been integrated into the Sony Reader PRS-T2. This enables the user to highlight favourite passages from an ebook and store them in the cloud as a virtual reference point.

This new 6-inch touchscreen e-Reader benefits from more paper-like page turns, an E-Ink display that’s been optimized for long-term, ad-free reading and a splattering of social features. With the E-Ink Pearl technology used, text scan be zoomed in and out using the pinch-and-pull method. Sony has also improved the battery life, promising up to 2 months of use with Wi-Fi switched off (based on an average 30 minutes of reading per day), which equates to double the capacity of the Sony Reader PRS-T1.

The tablet is extremely compact measuring 6.88*4.38*0.38 inches and weightings 0.37 pounds. This reader supports ePUB, PDF formats and has a additional dictionary app. With internal memory of 2GB it can accommodate microSD cards of up to 32GB for additional storage. The Sony Reader PRS-T2 is available in red, white and black with a free voucher for the first Harry Potter book, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, for a limited time only.

At only $129.99 , the Reader PRS-T2 is only $50 more than Kindles version!
