Google Glass at the New York Fashion Week

Fashion isn’t the only thing debuting at this year’s New York Fashion Week, held from September 6th to 13th: new technologies are gracing the runway.

Technology giant Google joined forces with designer Diane von Furstenburg to outfit the models with special glasses in development under Project Glass. The eyewear enabled models to record their vision of the fashion show in real time and the resulting footage will be used to produce a short film for DVF through Glass, set to debut on the designer’s website.

The collaboration between DVF and Google marks a first for the New York Fashion week. The Google Glass project is an exciting development in wearable and interactive technologies which could have a long standing and wide impact on the way in which society is able to utilize innovative products, particularly multifunctional technologies.

The Google Glass project is an exciting development to keep an eye on.
