iPad Mini launch event confirmed for October 23

This is official: the invite are out! Apple has confirmed that ‘an event’ will take place on Tuesday October 23 to unveil what is widely believed to be the iPad Mini.

Nothing sure, only rumors, but the invitation hinted at something small but important by using the words “We’ve got a little more to show you.”

The event will in take place at the California Theatre in San Jose, California. Apple’s choice of the date for the launch of the iPad mini is really significant. It’s a few days before Microsoft is set to release Windows 8 and it’s Surface Tablet.

Also expected to be announced on October 23 is the 13-inch Retina Display MacBook Pro, and perhaps a revamped Mac mini or two.

An analyst has said that the iPad mini is now already in “full production“, and expects that Apple will sell 8 million of the tablets within its first quarter. Foxconn and Pegatron are said to be manufacturing the device.
