Vivo X1, the thinnest phone in the world

Made by Chinese BBK Electronics, the Vivo X1 , the world’s new thinnest smartphone, just arrives on the market. Not just that, it also comes with top notch audio quality and the quite capable Beyerdynamic MMX 71 iE earphones.

According to its manufacturer, it measures a mere 6.55mm thin (to give it some perspective, the iPhone 5 measures 7.6mm thin). The new BBK’s phone will sport

  • a 4.7” qHD display (540 x 960 pixels),
  • a 1.2GHz Cortex-A9 dual-core processor with 1GB of RAM,
  • 16GB of internal storage,
  • an 8MP rear-facing camera as well as a 1.3 MP shooter up front,
  • a 2,000mAh battery with support for wireless charging
  • 3G connection
  • Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.

The Vivo X1 will also come with a Cirrus Logic CS4398 digital-analog converter and a CS8422 sample-rate converter for audio — a combo that’s seemingly popular amongst Hi-Fi connoisseurs and manufacturers. And to match that audio performance, BBK’s also throwing in a pair of Beyerdynamic MMX 71 iE earphones (20Hz-22kHz, 12Ω, 104dB) as part of the $400 package.
