CES 2013: the new Asus’ Transformer AiO runs both Windows 8, Android

Asus presented a important range of unreleased hardware like displays, motherboards, accessories, gaming peripherals, tablets, anad PCs, at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. asus_transformer_aio_pcBut the Jewel of the Asus’s Collection is certainly the really surprising Transformer all-in-one (AiO), a desktop PC and touchscreen tablet showed off  on Thursday.

The dual OS Transformer All-in-One Desktop is running both Windows 8 OS and Google’sAndroid Jellybean.

As a whole, the AIO runs an Intel Ivy Bridge processor (i3) for Windows 8 and a Nvidia Tegra processor for Android. It comes with a graphics card, and an 18.4-inch IPS 1080p 10-finger multitouch full HD display, with a 1920×1080 resolution, and an embedded stand to adjust the tablet display for multiple angles.

Undocked, the tablet is rated for approximately 5 hours of battery life and runs Android Jellybean 4.1 natively. However if you so desire, you can still access the Windows 8 desktop via a wireless connection.

Asus claims the Transformer AiO will retail for $1,299 with a Core i3 chip starting Q1 2013 The company is also planning to release the machine in Core i5 and Core i7 variants. Other details such as RAM, storage and battery life remain unknown at this point.
