Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Confirmed for MWC 2013

The internet has been quietly discussing the possibility of an 8-inch Galaxy Note for a while now, but nothing appeared at CES this month.

The president of Samsung’s mobile business, John-Kyun Shin, has just reportedly confirmed that the company will show off a Galaxy Note 8 tablet at next month’s Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. As the name implies, it’ll be an 8-inch tablet, very close in size to the iPad mini which sports a 7.9-inch screen.

Rather than being an up-sized Galaxy Note II, the Galaxy Note 8 will be a slimmed-down version of Samsung’s 10-inch slate, complete with its signature S-Pen stylus, and will be Samsung’s direct competitor to the iPad mini!

And as John-Kyun Shin shared nothing about the specs except the screen size for now, we’ll just have to wait until MWC to get all the finer details.
