Apple Remains World’s Most Admired Company

Today Fortune published its list of the “World’s Most Admired Companies” for the year 2012. As expected, and as with the five past year, Apple scoring 8.24 on Fortune’s ranking system came on the top!

With no really surprise, the top 10 places of the Fortune’s list are all taken by American companies! You have to get down to place 14 on the list before a non-US company emerges – BMW.

Following Apple in the ranking were Google and Amazon.com, followed by beverage providers Coca-Cola and Starbucks. IBM hit the sixth spot as most admired, with Southwest Airlines, Berkshire Hathaway, Walt Disney and FedEx rounding out the list.

Apple was named “World’s most Admired Company Of the Year”!

To say it was another big year for Apple would be a gross understatement,” the publication stated. “With the passing of Steve Jobs, questions swirled around the company’s future. But under new CEO Tim Cook’s guidance, Apple continues to prosper.”

fortune_logoFortune’s list of the world’s most admired companies is based on surveys from executives across 30 different countries. The companies are ranked on nine separate criteria, including the quality of management, innovativeness, the quality of products or services, the ability to attract and retain talented people, social responsibility, and long-term investment value.
