the ad industry market increase 3,2% in 2012

According to Nielsen’s quarterly Global AdView Pulse report, 2012 closed out on a positive note for the global ad industry that increases 3.2 percent year-over-year to reach a market of $557 billion.

nielsen reportAll regions except Europe increased their ad spending in 2012, but the most impressive growth comes from the Middle East/African market. As the region’s economy stabilized, the ad market registers there a 14.6 percent increase for the year. Meanwhile, deep cuts to ad budgets continued in Europe: 5.3 percent decrease for the final quarter, yielding an annual global decrease of 4.2 percent.

The Asian-Pacific market underperformed also with a annual decrease in ad from 11.5 percent in 2011 to a mere 2.8 percent in 2012. It is mainly du to the China very light gain of only 1.9 percent for the year.

The only market that remain quite stable is the North America market that stay on an upward trajectory at the end of the year climbing 3.1 percent in the fourth quarter. The report says that this american market count for a 4.6 percent growth for the full year.
